AAC is here to help you, your family member or your friend during a non-life threatening mental health and/or substance use issue.

Call (604) 675-3700 - available 24/7, 365 days a year. Our staff includes registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, and social workers, psychiatrists and reception staff who are here to help 24/7. We provide pathways for people and families to access to VCH mental health and/or substance use services in Vancouver and offer an alternative to the Emergency department for people having a non-life threatening mental health and/or substance use issue.

Do you have urgent mental health or substance use concerns?

If you feel you or someone else might be in danger of hurting themselves or someone else, call 9-1-1 or go to the hospital emergency department right away.

Emergency Mental Health Services - Car 87/Car 88 We provide intervention to individuals in the community for mental health crisis or emergency situations. Staff respond to calls from police, health care professionals, clients, family members and the general public.

Services include mobile response for crisis assessment and resolution, referrals to mental health teams, health care professionals or other agencies. A joint service between Vancouver Coastal Health and the Vancouver Police Department.
